Alterations to existing single residence with double-storey addition, and landscaping.

A modest yet mighty double-storey infill addition nestled into an internal corner of an existing double-storey house. In contrast to the existing brown brick-veneer post-war house, our intervention consist of two distinct volumes: a white cement-sheet clad box in a stretcher bond pattern paying homage to the existing brickwork, and a timber board addition that mediates the transition between the old and new. Double-height volumes and natural light enrich the existing spaces, with timber accents to complement the minimalist material palette.
