Addition of double-storey studio garage to existing single storey residence.

The addition of a studio garage hidden away in Shands lane reflects the existing façade treatments of the neighbouring houses. The double garage workshop with a white room leads to the upper floor that houses a studio with a double façade separated by a balcony on the western side of the proposal. Further, the western wall extends to deal with the issue of overlooking neighbours’ spaces. The acute angle created in between the western wall and the studio wall accommodates a swing gate with a restricted view of their personal backyard not only further resolves the issue of overlooking but also visually connects the studio to the rest of the house.
